This Privacy Policy governs the privacy practices of the mobile application Al Quran (القرآن), available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
The Application is developed, owned, and operated by TechStars. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This document informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our Application, and the choices you have associated with that data.
By using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please do not use the Application.
2. Overview: We Do Not Collect Personal Data
Our Application does not require you to create an account, register, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information. The core features of the Application — reading the Holy Quran, translations, Azkar (remembrances), Du'a, and audio recitation — operate without any personal data.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information to third parties.
3. Location Information
With your permission, the Application uses your device's location only while you are actively using the relevant feature, for two purposes:
- To determine the direction of the Qibla on the Qibla screen.
- To calculate prayer times on the Prayer Times screen.
This location information is processed on your device for these calculations and is not stored, transmitted, or shared by us. The Application does not access your location in the background and does not use coarse or approximate location for any other purpose.
You may deny or revoke the location permission at any time through your device settings. If permission is denied, the Application's other features (reading the Quran, Azkar, Du'a) continue to work normally.
4. Device & Usage Information
The Application uses the following services, which may collect limited technical information automatically:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), provided by Google, may be used to deliver optional notifications to your device (for example, updates or announcements). This involves a device push token. No personal data is collected by us through this service.
- Firebase Remote Config, provided by Google, delivers configuration values to your device (for example, whether a new version of the Application is available). It does not collect personal data.
- Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), provided by Google, may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (such as how often the Application is opened and which features are used) to help us improve the Application. It does not collect data that identifies you personally, and we do not use it to track you across other applications or websites.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs or third-party trackers that profile you across applications or websites.
5. Local Data Storage
Certain preferences are stored locally on your device only, such as your saved reading position, preferred language, font size, theme, and favorited Azkar or Du'a. This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Application does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will take steps to remove such information.
7. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect information processed through the Application. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
